Summer

I am so happy!  We have only four and a half more days of school.  I can’t wait because it’s almost summer.  No school for a couple of months.  My brother is so lucky because he finishes school tomorrow and next year he will be a Senior.  He’s almost finished with school, but then he’s off to college.

This summer I will have to go to summer school for one month because I will be going to a new school.  It is only for three and a half hours and then I can do whatever I want.  Hopefully we won’t have too much homework.  I wish I didn’t have to go to school at all, but I know how important it is to graduate from high school.  My mom told me that I don’t have a choice because that is part of life.

I can’t wait until summer because I don’t have to worry about doing homework every night.  I can sleep later and not worry about staying up late every night to do homework.  My mom keeps telling me that all your life your constantly learning and studying.  Even when you graduate from high school, you will go to college, and then you have to work.  My mom told me that even when you get a job you will still have to take classes just like school.  So she tells me everyday do your best and study hard.

Mother’s Day

This past Sunday, May 8, 2016 was Mother’s Day.  On Saturday, we had Mother’s Day dinner at our house. We ate steak, sashimi, poke, somen salad, fruits, and smores.  My aunty and cousins came over and we ate outside.  It was really cold outside and it was so much fun being with my family.  Every special occasion we try to have get together and eat dinner as a family.

On Sunday, we went to a Chinese restaurant for Mother’s Day lunch.  My aunties, uncles, grandparents, and cousins were there.  We ate scallop dim sum, scallop soup, duck, chicken, vegetable in taro basket, jai  (monk food), fish, almond float, and mango pudding.  I didn’t eat too much because the food wasn’t that good.  The best thing was the duck in the bun.

After we finished eating, my mom took us to Ward Center because I wanted to eat yogurt at Menchies.  The parking lot was really busy and there was no parking.  My mom told me that she would drive around  one more time and if she doesn’t find a parking we were going home.  I was sad, but I knew my mom was tired and it was Mother’s Day.  I was so happy because just when she said that somebody went out.  I ate yogurt with all kinds of toppings.  It was really good!

Can’t Wait Until Summer

Can you believe we only have 15 more days of school and then its summer.  I am so happy!  I wish it were sooner, but at least its not one month.  Hopefully the last 15 days of school won’t be too hard.  I hope the teachers don’t give us a lot of homework.

I can’t wait until summer.  I will have about one week off then I have to go to summer school.  It’s not really summer school, but more a summer orientation.  However, it will only be for one month and only a couple of hours a day.  Then,  I have over one month off with no school.  I can’t wait for summer!

No school for one whole month.  I can go to sleep late and wake up late.  I can play my game whenever I want.  However, I think I have to limit my game playing before my mom gets really mad with me.  I don’t have to worry about homework and just relax.  I wish that summer would last forever!

Donating and Volunteering

Everyone can make a difference in the world by donating to charity.  We can donate money, old clothes, and old toys to charity which will make a difference in the lives of those that are less fortunate than us.  Today I donated toilet paper and slightly used T-shirts for the fundraiser for Hale Kipa.  If everyone donates a little than maybe we can help someone get better things.  By doing this I can make a difference in the world and help those that don’t have all the things that I have.

Another way that we can make a difference in the world is by helping prepare food for the homeless and less fortunate.   We can go to Salvation Army and help prepare food for the homeless and less fortunate so that they can eat a hot meal.  Another way to help out is by volunteering your time at a homeless shelter.  If everyone donated money to help these agency they may be able to provide food for everyone there.  If everyone volunteered couple hours a month and donated money, we would have less people starving in the world.

We can make a difference in the world by volunteering to help the elderly and sick and respecting and being kind to others.  We can volunteer at a hospital or care home to help the elderly and sick.  We can help push their wheelchair and bring their food to them.  We can make a difference by treating others with respect and being kind to everyone that is around us.  By doing this we can make a difference in the world and feel good about ourselves knowing that we helped someone in need.

Removing Invasive Algae

About two years ago, I helped with an Eagle project with my Boy Scout Troop to help remove invasive algae from Maunalua Bay in Kuli’ou’ou.  I learned that it is one of the biggest threats to Hawaii’s coral reefs.  Through this project I learned why we were removing all this invasive algae.  The reason we were removing it was because it is rapidly invading our coral reefs and destroying the habitat for many plant-eating species.

By removing several thousand pounds of invasive algae from the Maunalua Bay we were able to help preserve our island’s coral reefs and save the lives of many plant-eating species and small fishes.  We cleaned the ocean and made the water cleaner so people can swim here again.  We helped the environment by transporting the algae to a local farmer to use for compost.  Through this project we were able to make our beaches look nicer and help save the lives of many fishes.

It wasn’t easy removing all the invasive algae, but together as a group we removed a whole lot of algae.  By removing invasive algae,  by helping, and volunteering to do things for several hours a month everyone can make a difference in the world.   By doing a good turn daily I can make a difference in the world.

School is Almost Over

Hooray!  We have only six more weeks of school and then it’s summer.  I can’t wait until school is over.  I think that this school year has been the hardest in my life so far.  Every day of the school year including weekends and breaks, I had homework.  Every night I stay up late doing my homework, trying  to remember all the homework I have to do, and hoping that I did all my homework.

This school year has been tough.  We have so much homework every night and I pray every night that I did it all.  If I forget to do an assignment and don’t turn it in, I know that I will hear it from my mom when she checks my Gradelink.  She checks it every night and is constantly telling me and asking me if I finished all my homework.  Eventually she will find out because if I don’t turn in a assignment I have to fill in a late form which she needs to sign.

School is almost over and then I won’t have to hear “Do your homework!”  I can go to sleep late and wake up late.  I don’t have to worry about doing homework and what homework I forgot about.  There will be one less thing for me to worry about.  I can’t wait for summer, then I’ll be stress free!

All Blogged Out

Well, I don’t know what to write about.  I am all blogged out.  Everyday when my mom drops me off at school, she tells me to do my best and have a nice day.  Even though I have a very hard time going to school, struggle and sometimes forget to do all my homework, and do poorly on tests, my mom is always there to support me and be positive.  She tells me that all we ask from you is that you try and do your best.   She also tells me that I will be the only one that knows if I did my best.

I still don’t know what else to write about even though I am trying my best to do this assignment.  Today we only had half day of school and tomorrow we are off.  I am so happy because I have three days off.  Tomorrow we don’t have school because it is Buddha Day.  I am so happy, but my brother is not so happy because he has school tomorrow.

Tonight I can go to sleep late and wake up late tomorrow morning.  Yeah!  No school for three whole days!  I know that I can’t constantly be playing my game because my mom will get really mad.  I will try and finish all my homework early so that I can play games all weekend long.  Well, until the next blog.

Easter Sunday

Eggs      Summer Fun!

This past Sunday was Easter.  We went to my Uncle Eric’s house in Hawaii Kai.  I had a lot of fun with all my cousins.  They have a pool and jacuzzi at their house.  When we got there we went swimming.  My brother and I had to watch my little cousin Sarene in the pool.  It was not easy watching her.

After we swam for about an hour we ate lunch.  Then, we went swimming in the pool again.  While we were in the pool, Auntie Wendy and Auntie Terri hid plastic eggs for us to find.  When they finished hiding the eggs, all the children went looking for the eggs.   Then, we played a game that required one person to put a plastic shower cap on their head, spray shaving cream all over their head, and the other person throws cheese balls at their head.  The person who gets the most cheese balls stuck wins.  Finally, we had a water balloon fight.

After all the activities, we ate dessert.  Then, we went back to swimming in the pool.  I had a lot of fun playing with all my cousins.  Then, we left to go home because the next day I had to go back to school.  It was the end of my Spring Break and back to school.  I really wish that I didn’t have to go back to school.

Almost Over

Spring Break is almost over and it’s back to school again.  I wish that this week would never end.  I’ve been having so much fun!  I don’t have to worry about going to sleep early and waking up early.  I can play my games and not have to worry about doing homework.

Time seems to be just flying by.  I can’t believe Spring Break is almost over and we only have three days left.  I guess when I don’t have to do homework and don’t have anything to stress out about time just flies by.  I hope that time will fly by this fast when we go back to school on Monday.  Hopefully it does because the next break we have is summer.

I can’t wait until summer.  The bad thing is that this summer I have to go summer school.  However, the good thing is that it is three months long and I don’t go to school all day long.  I think that summer school is only one month, so that means I have two months off.  Summer is the best time!

Spring Break – No School

Only one more day of school and then we have a whole week off.  My vacation actually begins today because tomorrow is actually a free day off because we are going on a field trip and we don’t have to study.  Hooray!  We are going with our buddy class to Pearlridge Shopping Center to see Butterflies in the Sky Exhibit.  I wonder if this exhibit is just as good as the one we went to see on our East Coast Trip.  It was kind of neat and kind of weird having the butterflies fly all around you and even landing on you.

I really wish that our Spring Break was longer than one week.  Some of my friends have two weeks off for Spring Break.  They are so lucky!  They have two whole weeks to do whatever they want.  Don’t have to go sleep early, don’t have to wake up early, play games, do fun things, and just relax!  I don’t have to worry about anything for almost one whole week.  Of course this is not reality.  I still have to do homework.

Well, after Spring Break is over then back to school again.  Hopefully time will go by fast so that it will be summer and no school again.  I can’t wait until summer because there is no school and no homework.  Two full months of having fun and relaxing.
